Agreement for banking association in the Eurozone

Eurozone finance ministers, on Wednesday and after long negotiations, ended up to an agreement on the banking union , while they marked this day as ” historic ” on the banks of the block, as a German news agency is reporting.

“This is a momentous day for the banking union,” as the European Commissioner for Internal Market, Michel Barnier wrote in his Twitter account.

“Today’s agreement was not easy to be achieved, but it was worth all the time we spent,” said the Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Rimantas Santzous , whose country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union. What remains now is for the Member States to negotiate the terms of a final agreement with the European Parliament, in order to launch ” a new chapter for our banking sector,” Santzous added.
