FIRST® LEGO® League Cyprus 2024 – Discover, Explore, Challenge
Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα ρομποτικής για παιδιά από 4 εως 6 χρονών
Ο Κυπριακός Σύνδεσμος Πληροφορικής (Cyprus Computer Society – CCS) σε συνεργασία με την EDUACT, με τη στήριξη του IET Cyprus Local network και την έγκριση του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού, διοργανώνει το FIRST® LEGO® League στην Κύπρο το 2024.
To FIRST® LEGO® League αποτελεί το μεγαλύτερο πρωτάθλημα ρομποτικής παγκοσμίως και δίνει τη δυνατότητα σε παιδιά 4 – 16 ετών να συμμετάσχουν σε ένα μοναδικό φεστιβάλ μέσω του οποίου μαθαίνουν, αλληλεπιδρούν, συνεργάζονται και διασκεδάζουν! Πρόκειται για μια συνεργασία της Μη Κερδοσκοπικής Οργάνωσης FIRST® και του εκπαιδευτικού τομέα της LEGO® Education και διοργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο, από το 1998, σε περισσότερες από 110 χώρες παγκοσμίως.
Το Cyprus Computer Society – CCS με στόχο την ανάπτυξη ψηφιακών δεξιοτήτων από νεαρή ηλικία, διοργανώνει κάθε χρόνο μαθητικούς διαγωνισμούς ρομποτικής (Robotex, WRO), πληροφορικής (Bebras), προγραμματισμού (Ολυμπιάδα) και κυβερνοασφάλειας (CCSC). Οι νικητές των διαγωνισμών εκπροσωπούν τη χώρα στις αντίστοιχες διεθνείς διοργανώσεις και δεν είναι λίγες οι φορές που επιστρέφουν με μετάλλια! Είναι η πρώτη φορά που το CCS ανέλαβε μια δράση που απευθύνεται όχι μόνο σε μαθητές αλλά και σε παιδιά νηπιαγωγείου!
Συγκεκριμένα, το FLL Cyprus 2024 περιλαμβάνει 3 προγράμματα που απευθύνονται σε 3 ηλικιακές κατηγορίες ως ακολούθως:
- FLL Discover (event/expo): H ομάδα αποτελείται από 2-4 παιδιά (4 – 6 ετών, προνήπια και νήπια)
- FLL Explore (event/expo): Η ομάδα αποτελείται από 2-6 παιδιά (6 – 10 ετών, Α’ – Δ’ Δημοτικού)
- FLL Challenge (διαγωνισμός): Η ομάδα αποτελείται από 2-10 παιδιά (9 – 16 ετών, Ε’ Δημοτικού – Β’ Λυκείου)
Στη φετινή σεζόν 2023-2024 με τίτλο MASTERPIECE℠ το θέμα είναι η τέχνη. Oι ομάδες του FIRST® LEGO® LEAGUE θα φανταστούν, θα δημιουργήσουν και θα εφεύρουν νέους τρόπους δημιουργίας και επικοινωνίας της τέχνης σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο, ενδυναμώνοντας τους νέους να σχεδιάσουν και να κατασκευάσουν πρότυπες και καινοτόμες λύσεις.
H διοργάνωση FIRST® LEGO® League Cyprus 2024 (FLL Cyprus 24) θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σαββατοκύριακο 6-7 Απριλίου 2024 στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, στη Λευκωσία.
Με τη συμμετοχής της στο FIRST® LEGO® League Discover, Explore, Challenge η ομάδα παίρνει σετ εξοπλισμού, σχέδια μαθημάτων, εκπαιδευτικά εργαλεία, εκπτώσεις σε προϊόντα της Lego Education και τη συμμετοχή της στο αντίστοιχο event/διαγωνισμό.

FIRST® LEGO® League Cyprus 2024 – Discover, Explore, Challenge
World Robotics Championship for Children aged 4 to 16
The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS), in collaboration with EDUACT, with the support of the IET Cyprus Local network and the approval of the Ministry of Education and Culture, is organizing the FIRST® LEGO® League in Cyprus in 2024.
The FIRST® LEGO® League is the world’s largest robotics competition, providing children aged 4 to 16 the opportunity to participate in a unique festival where they learn, interact, collaborate, and have fun! It is a collaboration between the non-profit organization FIRST® and the educational sector of LEGO® Education, held annually since 1998 in more than 110 countries worldwide.
The Cyprus Computer Society – CCS, aiming to develop digital skills from a young age, organizes annual student competitions in robotics (Robotex, WRO), computer science (Bebras), programming (Olympiad), and cybersecurity (CCSC). The winners of these competitions represent the country in international events, often returning with medals! This is the first time CCS has undertaken an initiative targeting not only students but also preschool children.
Specifically, FLL Cyprus 2024 includes three programs aimed at three age groups as follows:
- FLL Discover (event/expo): The team consists of 2-4 children (4-6 years old, preschool and kindergarten).
- FLL Explore (event/expo): The team consists of 2-6 children (6-10 years old, 1st – 4th grade of primary school).
- FLL Challenge (competition): The team consists of 2-10 children (9-16 years old, 5th grade of primary school – 2nd grade of high school).
In the current 2023-2024 season with the theme MASTERPIECE℠, the focus is on art. The FIRST® LEGO® League teams will imagine, create, and invent new ways of creating and communicating art globally, empowering young people to design and build exemplary and innovative solutions.
The FIRST® LEGO® League Cyprus 2024 (FLL Cyprus 24) event will take place on the weekend of April 6-7, 2024, at the European University of Cyprus in Nicosia.
By participating in the FIRST® LEGO® League Discover, Explore, Challenge, the team receives equipment sets, lesson plans, educational tools, discounts on Lego Education products, and participation in the corresponding event/competition.
