Limassol’s First Exclusive HYROX Challenge Arrives This October at the Old Port
Heatwave and CrossFit Limassol unite to bring a global fitness phenomenon to Cyprus for the very first time.
LIMASSOL, CYPRUS — Cyprus is set to host its first-ever HYROX Challenge this autumn, as Heatwave and CrossFit Limassol join forces to introduce the world-famous fitness race format to the island. The event will take place on Saturday, October 18th at the iconic Limassol Old Port, and registrations are now officially open.
HYROX has already made waves in cities like London, Berlin, and New York—and now, for the first time, it’s coming to Cyprus. Known for combining running with high-intensity functional movements like sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, and burpees, the race format is designed to push athletes both physically and mentally.
The concept first landed on the island earlier this year during Heatwave Festival, where a HYROX-style simulation run by CrossFit Limassol drew massive attention. Due to overwhelming demand and excitement, the two teams decided to take things one step further—turning the simulation into a standalone public event for October.
“This isn’t just a challenge—it’s a new chapter for functional fitness in Cyprus,” said the Heatwave team. “The community asked for it, and we’re making it happen.”
Set against the vibrant atmosphere of the Limassol Old Port, the challenge will follow the official HYROX structure, with individual and partner categories, professional judging, and a high-energy environment that blends fitness with entertainment. The event is open to all levels—from first-timers to experienced athletes.
