“Coffee Rave” in Nicosia? No alcohol, daytime, dancing in a café? We were all a bit skeptical but it was wild!
WAVI’s first Coffee Rave at Écru felt like one of those things you just had to experience to understand. People walked in not really knowing what to expect. Some came for the coffee, some for the music, some just to see what the hype was about. There was no pressure — just good energy from the start.
When DJ AndrezP started dropping beats, the vibe just transformed. At first, people were moving cautiously, almost checking if it was “okay” to dance. Then suddenly it wasn’t awkward anymore — it was fun. Real fun. No forced vibes, no pretending. Just people dancing because they genuinely wanted to.
What surprised me most was how easy it was to connect. Without alcohol, conversations felt clearer, lighter, more intentional. You actually remembered people’s names. You laughed more. The coffee bar became the centre of everything — people chatting, refilling cups, jumping back into the crowd. It felt social in a way nightlife doesn’t usually feel.
By the middle of the event, the place was packed. No one missed the alcohol — not even for a second. If anything, the energy was better. People were present, alert, and fully in it. AndrezP read the room perfectly, building the vibe without overwhelming it. We went from summer jams of 2025, to old school classics and even a couple of Greek Tracks to set the tone.
The question I heard most as people were leaving?
“So… when’s the next one?”
The Coffee Rave proved something simple but powerful: this works. There’s a real appetite for experiences that feel good during and after — not ones you need to recover from.
On December 28th, WAVI is taking it up a notch with Cyprus’ first full-scale sober wellness rave at FUELHOUSE. If the Coffee Rave was the test, it passed — easily. And if this is the future of nightlife, we’re here for it .
