Cyta: 250,000 Euros were given to ‘invisible’ consultants

According to the newspaper “Fileleftheros”, 250,000 euros were given to ‘invisible’ consultants. We are talking about a double scandal with Cyta consultants for promoting agreements with Lebanon. In the agreement there were two consulting firms, of which one is based in Seychelles and was connected with the famous Syrian Al Zayiat. The specific company appears to be the “official” advisor but the data show a second “invisible” company, whose headquarters were also situated in an exotic country.

The agreement of the “invisible” company happened via contract, while the selection process is unknown at a service level. The offered contract for signature to the Headship by a specific member of the Board, had the Board’s approval but the management was not informed. As stated, the contract was submitted by the responsible chief executive of Cyta and the concerned manager of the Department, after insistence of the specific Board member, who is not included in the recently resigned members. After that, the same member returned the contracts to Cyta signed by the company in question as well.

No representative of the company in question had ever appeared either in Cyta or elsewhere, until the signing of the agreement with Lebanon, nor in the negotiations and neither during the signing with Lebanon for the promotion of consulting services.

The Board and others – regardless that the contract did not provide a payment in advance- secured a prepayment of about 30% of the contract. This prepayment was made with a check in the name of the company, which once again obtained by hand the specific Board member, on the ground that he will deposit the check himself on the company’s behalf. The same procedure was repeated by a member of the Board, with a second equivalent check in the name of the exotic country.

There is reported information that the current and former executives, who were involved in the signing of the agreement with the “invisible” consultants, will be able to give us details.
