Playtech acquires shares in Lottosport in Albania

Playtech, the IT giant has signed an agreement to acquire shares in the number one betting company in Albania, Lottosport for an investment rumored to worth about €4,5m.

The deal that was signed in January, was finalized after the recommendation of Playtech’s partners in the region, LA Business led by Lambros Christofi.

Lottosport Albania has over 200 shops in Albania and has also a significant presence in online betting through its website lottsport.com.al.

Playtech is a gambling software development company founded in 1999 by Israeli billionaire, Teddy Sagi. The company provides software for online casinos, online poker rooms, online bingo games, online sports betting, scratch games, mobile gaming, live dealer games and fixed-odds arcade games online. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

LA Business is a consulting firm specialized in the Balkan and South East Europe region where its people have been operating for the past two decades, being active in investment opportunities, the banking industry, the insurance market and other retail industries.
