Cyprus’ trade deficit declines in first nine months

The deficit was down by 900 million euro in relation to the corresponding period of 2012.

Eurostat data show that the total value of Cyprus’ exports during January – September 2013 has reached 1.1 billion euro, recording an increase of 10% compared with the corresponding period of 2012.

Imports were down by 19% reaching a value of 3.5 billion euro from 4.3 billion euro in the same period last year.

The total trade deficit of Cyprus in the first eight months amounted to 2.4 billion euro from 3.3 billion euro in the same period of 2012.
